What goes into a GridPower® system?

GridPower® solar power systems use only the highest quality components from world-leading manufacturers. These are tested and certified to Australian Standards.

There are three key elements that make up a GridPower® solar power system - the solar panels, the power inverter and the mounting frame.

The panels capture sunlight and turn it into direct current (DC) electricity; the power inverter changes the electricity from DC to alternating current (AC) for use within your home or building and export to the electricity grid; and the mounting frame holds the panels securely to the roof.

These pre-formatted GridPower® solar power systems come with a comprehensive user manual and an exclusive system warranty, which is backed by a dedicated technical support team - a team which has been in the business for over 25 years.

There is always a choice of equipment, depending on the specifications which you require. There are four different panel manufacturers, all providing 20 years limited performance warranties, and four inverter manufacturers to choose from. All inverters have 5 year limited manufacturers' warranties. , except for Aero-Sharp which has a 10 year manufacturer's warranty.

Solar Power Panels

Sharp logo

SHARP SHARP began its involvement with research and development of photovoltaics in 1959, making it one of the world's oldest solar panel manufacturers, with industry-leading performance tolerance and a reputation for endurance and reliability. Since then, Sharp solar cells and peripheral products have been improved and applied to a wide range of applications: from satellites out in space to terrestrial purposes for lighthouses, industrial applications, and residential use.

-- Warranty: Sharp has a limited 25 year manufacturer's warranty on their modules operating at no less than 80% of specified minimum power output performance from time of original sale. Manufacturer's warranty documents are available on request.

Astronergy logo

Astronergy, part of the Chint Group of China, is a leading global photovoltaic manufacturer, led by a seasoned and international team of industry executives, and supported by a world-renowned technical team. From the very beginning, Astronergy has adhered to a guiding principle of "green innovation", from conventional crystalline silicon to high-performance thin film solar power modules. With its partners, it strives for the promotion and popularisation of new energy sources, bringing the world cleaner power and a greener tomorrow.

Since 2006, Astronergy has invested over US$150 million into solar panel production, both crystalline silicon and thin film. Astronergy panels come in a range of sizes and technologies - all competitively-priced and of the highest .p.

solarfun logo

Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd ( "Solarfun" ) ( NASDAQ:SOLF), manufactures ingots and solar cells and modules, and supplies solar system integration services in China. The Company produces both monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon cells and modules, and manufactures the majority of its modules with in-house produced PV cells. The Company was founded in 2004 and its products have been certified to TUV and UL safety and quality standards. With a strong management team and efficient performance Solarfun has grown into a leading player in the global photovoltaic industry, in both its own brand name products as well as through contract manufacturing solutions.

Inverters

GridPower® solar power systems come with either a Fronius, Latronics, Aero-Sharp or Sharp Solar inverter. Each type of inverter has different features; all efficiently converting the DC electricity from the solar panels into useable AC electricity for use either within the house or for export to the grid.

These grid-connect inverters ensure that you always get the maximum output from your GridPower® solar power system. They come in indoor and outdoor models, and some have a standard LCD display, allowing you to view system parameters and performance statistics at the push of a button. A wide range of sizes are available, allowing amazing flexibility from 1 kW up to an awesome 50 kW!

An extensive range of accessories is available, including a portable display screen, data-logging systems and software packages to keep you fully informed and up-to-date.

Structural Security - array framing solutions

Engineering is most important when installing PV mounting technology onto a roof. The GridPower® systems comes with Unirac framing kit for attaching the solar power array to a building. UniRac has over 10 years of proven performance helping businesses and homeowners benefit from solar solutions.

There are a number of framing solutions, depending if the roof is flat, sloping or not facing north. There are also systems for ground-mounted arrays.

UniRac's SolarMount™ and CLICKSYSTM™ custom aluminium extrusions have been specifically designed for solar panel arrays and can be installed quickly and permanently on any roof structure. This convenient mounting set has been fully tested and wind rated to Australian conditions.

The SolarMount™ system is engineered for the maximum flexibility possible in designing, locating, and installing your PV array. On the roof or on the ground, SolarMount™ components assemble into structures that support a variety of PV array configurations. Design for high profile or low - whichever suits your site.

SolarMount™ framing systems can be installed as flat or tilt systems, and can be custom configured to solve virtually any PV mounting challenge. SolarMount framing has even been used to construct an open structure carport, intelligently turning real estate into an energy-making opportunity.

Engineered for flush roof mounting applications, CLICKSYS™ offers superior aesthetics with great value and is easily installed on most rooting types. The unique I-beam design of CLICKSYS™ optimises strength, eliminates excess material found in other systems, and offers a cost-effective solution.

With no drilling required and "click and secure" connections eliminating the need for nuts and bolts, CLICKSYS™ gets installers off the roof in nearly half the time when compared to other competitive products.

All UniRac framing systems come with 10 years limited warranty.
